About

Joseph Miner, a life long entrepreneur and former employee of Korky Korkes, had over the years befriended a couple of guys who had the misfortune of spinal injury. He noted, while they had great determination and their spirits were undaunted, travelling more than a few hundred feet in a wheelchair was an enormous task. One man scooters were impossible to use for the wheelchair bound and were also slow to travel any reasonable distance.

As a young man just 15 years old he had worked for after school for Korky Korkes a famous automobile builder and customizer – it was a dream job come true. One of the first projects he was allowed to assist with were the NFL football carts made for all the teams of National Football League. The carts were designed and built by Korky’s Kustom Studios in the San Fernando Valley area of California. Joe’s love of car customizing and unique vehicles began…

Fast forward 40 years… recently Joe decided it was time to try and give something back. He was acutely aware of the injuries 1000s of veterans had sustained in the recent Iraq and Afghanistan missions, as well as all other wars, and thought that if he put the right team together they may be able to produce or modify vehicles that would fill the niche needed by our disabled veterans.

Joe reached out to some of his old friends in the car business explained his idea…. instantly “Carts for Causes” and its affiliate “Carts for Heros” were born.

Carts for Causes is part of the ACE Organization group of charities.
